In response to customer feedback, we have added Family Legal Expenses Insurance as a policy section to Rural Protect (excluding Rural Protect Elements).
Often, our brokers face the dilemma of splitting the Personal and Commercial Legal Expenses when adding Rural Protect to a customer’s portfolio, so we are making that process simpler!
The addition of Family Legal Expenses to Rural Protect is a major development for the product, as it enables customers to have all their legal risks covered under one policy, removing the need for multiple ones. The unique nature of agricultural businesses often means that clients’ personal affairs are intrinsically linked with their business needs, so having one policy that reflects this dynamic, addresses this need.
What does the cover include?
From 1st April 2021, all policyholders will benefit from this cover; it extends to include all owners, partners or directors and their family members permanently residing with them.
We have teamed up with Arc Legal Assistance Limited to bring this cover into the policy. Arc Legal Assistance are a leading provider of Legal Expenses Insurance in the UK, managing over 18 million policies. The policy is underwritten by AmTrust Europe Ltd, who are rated ‘A-‘ (Excellent) by A.M. Best. Arc Legal are committed to providing products that not only respond where legal disputes do occur but aim to mitigate risks with quality upfront support via helpline advice – a natural complement to the commercial cover provided by Rural Protect.
To make things seamless and bring the essence of the business and personal cover together, rradar, specialist litigation and commercial law firm who already provide the professional legal representation, regulatory and risk management advice and specialist proactive advisory services under Rural Protect, are also the approved legal firm for the new Family Legal expenses section. The team at rradar see this as a significant strengthening of the value the Rural Protect policy delivers to its customers and are pleased to be a part of the streamlined policy cover.
In this new one stop shop service, policyholders can continue to access the wide range of business support and legal services from rradar, who can answer policyholders’ questions, educate their business and assist with many legal and regulatory issues they may face across a wide range of topic areas. As with the commercial sections of Rural Protect, the cover is wrapped in legal privilege as rradar is a fully authorised and regulated legal practice. This means that legal advice, or communication with rradar because of specific claims against the policyholder, may not be disclosed in related legal proceedings.
