Rural Protect Rates and Cover Changes from January 2024

We look forward to a number of enhancements we are making to Rural Protect’s rates and cover, for both renewals and new business incepting from 1st January 2024; these are outlined below.

Limit of indemnity – Increased from £100,000 to £250,000 (excluding Family Legal on Rural Protect) – our starting point is now £250,000; this does not affect our existing premium levels.

New rating band – You’ll see a reduction in premium for risks where the total turnover is £200,000 or below.

CAP Appeals and Rent Arbitration – Increased limit from £10,000 to £20,000 with the option to increase up to £100,000. We have also extended this cover to apply to any agricultural scheme where the policyholder derives an income.

Circumstance Investigation costs cover – Increased from £50,000 to £75,000.

Compensation for court attendance – Increased from £250 per day to £300 per day.

Loss of documents cover – Increased from £100,000 to £125,000.

Negative social media crisis PR costs cover – Increased from £25,000 to £100,000.

Pollution claims clean-up costs cover – Increased from £25,000 to £30,000.

We’ve also updated the contact details to register a claim under the Family Legal Expenses section and there is now a QR code to direct customers to rradar’s digital services.

The policy wording and summary of cover has been updated and the changes have been summarised in an updated ‘Notice to Policyholder’, which will accompany renewals.

Statement of Fact – The Statement of Fact declarations have been updated to obtain further information in relation to moral hazard information so keep an eye out for these as we have not previously asked for this information.
